History
of Genesis
Genesis
was started in August 1993, using Visual Basic Version 1.0.
This was re-written later that year, using Visual Basic Version
2.0, and again re-written in 1994 using Visual Basic Version
3.0! The re-writes were necessary to take advantage of the file-access
methods available.
After
a long absence, in Jan 2002 I finally picked up the source code,
dusted it off and began the conversion to VB6. The VB3 version
of Genesis appeared to be completely unusable under Windows98
(at least on the few computers that I've tried).
The
database engine used by Genesis is the same as is supplied with
Microsoft ACCESS, so if you have a copy of ACCESS you can load
Genesis databases and create your own reports or analysis if
desired.
